WE’RE CHANGING OUR NAME AND BROADENING OUR FOCUS!
In September 2010, the Welsh Media and Screen Academies will merge under the name of Skillset Media Academy Wales, increasing our geographical footprint and offering a more diverse range of creative media courses.
With five years of successful delivery in film, animation and screen-acting education behind us and continued industry support and involvement, we join the UK Skillset Media Academy network as an existing recognised centre of excellence.
Now we prepare to extend our reach from film to television, design and digital media - welcoming a wider group of students and industry to our network.
This summer Skillset launches its industry-led ‘Pick the Tick’ campaign which promotes the Skillset ‘Tick’ as an indication of the best creative in media courses and universities. The Skillset Media Academy network of 22 academies plays a key role in delivering Skillset’s vision for industry-led media education that produces high quality graduates.

With new industry and higher education partners coming on board, Skillset Media Academy Wales will ensure this vision is realised in Wales by continuing to help students and graduates stand out from the crowd.
Over the coming months we will confirm the new University and Industry partners joining the fold, as well as exciting opportunities for students to collaborate, network and promote work to our growing industry network and the wider Skillset Media Academy family.
