Farrukh Dhondy was Commissioning Editor, Multicultural Programming, for Channel 4 between 1984 and 1997 and was responsible for commissioning many award winning films including Oscar nominee Salaam Bombay!, Immaculate Conception, Mississippi Masala, and Bandit Queen, along with TV series Desmonds, Bandung File, and Family Pride.

Since leaving Channel 4 Farrukh has concentrated on writing, and has produced works for TV, stage and film. Upcoming work includes screenplays for Kaleidoscope films, Channel 4, and Yorkshire TV.
