Born in 1959, Marc comes from Cardiff and is a Welsh speaker. Educated at Cambridge and Bristol Universities he made his first short film, “Johnny Be Good” in 1984 – a bi-lingual story of a juke box’s arrival in a small welsh town. He subsequently worked in television in the UK directing many dramas and documentaries. Most notable amongst his TV dramas were “Friday On My Mind” for the BBC and “Master Of The Moor” for ITV. His documentaries include “Libraries Gave Us Power” (about rock group Manic Street Preachers), “Un Sogno Fatto In Sicilia” for RAI and the feature length “Beautiful Mistake” and “Dal:Yma/Nawr” for S4C.

His first feature in 1996 was “House Of America” followed swiftly by the controversial “Resurrection Man”. 2002 saw much critical acclaim for his digital horror film “My Little Eye” which was followed by “Trauma” starring Colin Firth and Mena Suvari .His latest feature, “Snow Cake” starring Alan Rickman, Sigourney Weaver and Carrie-Anne Moss opened the 2006 Berlin Film Festival and is released this year. He is currently shooting a documentary “In Prison My Whole Life” about death row inmate Mumia Abu Jahmal.
