Biography:
1954 - born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan
1971-1976 – Studied at Polytechnic University of Tashkent
1979-1983- Studied "theatre and film acting"
at Tashkent Institute for dramatic Art.
Simultaneously worked as a producer in his
own studio theatre, taught acting
course at Tashkent University and staged
some productions in the State theatres of Uzbekistan
1984-1988- Studied at the Schukin Theatre School (Moscow),
directing course.
1989-1991- Director of the "Saraton", the first festival
of alternative film and theatre in Uzbekistan
1991-1998 –Leader, director, producer, DoP
of Aral Sea Project – cultural action, including
the documentary film series: “Dry Tears” with participation of Emma Thompson,
Annie Girardot, Erland Josephson.
1995 – Together with number of his colleagues he
established “E&C media”- theatre and film Production Company in Brussels
1995-2005 -
Works as a freelance director/actor in Europe and teaches acting and directing at
Film and theatre schools in Belgium, France, NL, UK, Portugal, Morocco, and Germany.
2004-2006 - Undertook additional training:
