Richard Holmes is a successful and creative independent producer with experience of running a rapidly expanding, publicly-quoted media company
In the late 1990s Richard co-wrote and produced Shooting Fish (the third most successful British Film of 1997 in the UK after The Full Monty and Bean), and Waking Ned (grossed $26m in the US and a further $25m worldwide against a budget of $3m). Waking Ned scored Richard a nomination for a Producer's Guild of America award.
Between 1999-2001 Richard was MD of Civilian Content, the parent company of The Film Consortium and The Works, during which time the company acquired and/or financed 24 Hour Party People and Bend It Like Beckham.
Richard was a founder of The New Producer's Alliance and served a year as Co-Chairman. In 1999, he finished a three-year stint as Vice-Chairman for Film at PACT and has been elected back onto main PACT Council for 2004/5 in addition to sitting on its Film Policy Group.
Richard has recently founded film financing venture Brighthaven and its first feature Magicians is currently in production.
