Paul Smith

Having co-programmed his university film society, Paul moved into media promotions, journalism and broadcasting.  For many years he worked in many areas of the Edinburgh International Film Festival including press and publications.  As a freelancer, he worked for a number of organizations including Wales International Film Festival, Sgrin (promoting Wales Cinema Day), the British Council's film department, and the British Film Commission. He has been on the judging panel of the DM Davies Awards and the Celtic Film and Television Awards.  He still co-programmes the German Film Festival.  He joined the press department of independent UK distributors Tartan Films in 1999. He is currently Head of Press and PR for its home entertainment wing, Tartan Video.
