"Finishing Touch" will offer advice on completing a short project, incorporating back end production (music composition/sound design), post production (final comp/edit) and final (showreel) presentation to industry recruitment standard.

Rick Villeneuve

Rick has been in the animation industry for over two decades, freelancing at various studios in London, Montreal, Budapest and Cardiff.

In 2006, Rick illustrated “The Fairy Cow” children’s book published in Japan.

Feature film work include, "Heavy Metal", “Ferngully, The Last Rainforest", "The Princess and the Goblins", "The Miracle Maker", "Beatrix Potter's The Tailor of Gloucester", "Otherworld/Y Mabinogi”, “Jester Till”, “Toto Sapore” and “Heidi” as animator/senior animator/sequence director/project manager.

Rick designed and directed the film "Merlin and the Dragons- An Animated Tale of the World " for S4C. In 2004, ”Merlin” was selected for various international festivals including Anifest, Czech Republic, Cartoons on the Bay, Italy,  Anima Mundi, Brazil, and BAF! in the UK.

In addition, Rick has provided Masterclass Tutorials for the “Welsh Animation Training Scheme” and the “Bristol Animation Course”. He was Vice-Chairman of the Welsh Animation Group (2000-04) and has programmed animation events for the International Film Festival of Wales ’99, the Celtic Film and Television Festival 2000 Rick advised for the IFFW 2000 -02, Cardiff Screen Festival 2003, SAND 2003-04, and judged animation for the Ffresh Student Festival and BAFTA CYMRU.
