The University of Glamorgan's MA Film Producing and Business Management* has been prepared for online study from January 2007 thanks to funding made available by the Skillset Screen Academy Wales.

The course is the only MA Film Producing and Business Management award available in the UK. Produced under the auspices of the Skillset Screen Academy Wales, the MA is aimed at candidates from media, law or business backgrounds who would like to gain the skills and knowledge required to move into film production.
The study materials have been developed by experienced film industry professionals, academic staff and experts from the University's e-learning team. Offering the opportunity to merge film business know-how with the creative dimensions of film making, the MA in Film Producing and Business Management greatly improves students' chances of making headway in the competitive international film industry.
It offers a flexible programme, being available for study as individual modules or to Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma levels as alternative exit points to the MA. The course also offers a tailor-made structure of blended learning that allows students to choose approaches that range from 100% e-learning to 100% face-to-face study.
e-Learning at the University of Glamorgan
The online version of MA in Film Producing and Business Management has been created through the resources of the University of Glamorgan's e- Support Team, which developed out of the e-College Wales (ECW) project (2001-2005).
Led by the University of Glamorgan in partnership with six partner colleges around Wales, ECW was an EU-funded initiative forming one of the largest e-learning projects in Europe. More than 2,000 students benefited from ECW’s innovative online courses.
The online course content developed was characterised by a wealth of high-level innovation in the creation of an original virtual learning environment and ground-breaking developments in multi-media learning activities. Online courses were developed to levels at which entire MA modules were delivered primarily through audio-visual media using purpose-built players of in-house design and production.
The Skillset Screen Academy Wales has made excellent use of the e- Support Team's experience and expertise in the creation of the online MA in Film Producing and Business Management. Advanced e-learning audio-visual materials form an important part of the modules making up the award.

e-Learning study bursary
One bursary has been made available (and has been awarded for 2007) to cover the study fee for the new MA Film Producing and Business Management online course for a student who is unable due to personal circumstances to undertake the course face-to-face.
