SSAW announces appointment of new Project Manager

Skillset Screen Academy Wales has today announced the appointment of its new Project Manager, who will lead the development of the Academy into 2009.

Emma Flatley will join SSAW on the 4th of February and will take over from the current Project Manager, Hannah Raybould, for a period of 10 months, while Hannah is on maternity leave.

“Screen Academy Wales is very pleased to be able to announce Emma’s appointment”, said Humphry Trevelyan, Co-director of SSAW and Head of IFSW. “Her track record in delivering an impressive range of arts projects ensures that the Academy will continue to develop strongly in its second phase,  and Emma will be able to continue to build on what has already been achieved.”

“Hannah Raybould has done an outstanding job during the first phase of the project. The Screen Academy has been fortunate in finding someone with Emma’s excellent skills and experience that can make sure that the Academy continues to play its part in building a sustainable film producing culture here in Wales” added Steve Blandford, Co-Director of SSAW and Associate Dean, CCI.

Emma, whose career has included working for the Cardiff International Film Festival and who was, until recently, the Director of Dance Bristol, will be based at the lead partners of the SSAW – the University of Wales, Newport and the University of Glamorgan and will lead the development of the SSAW portfolio of activity going forward, working closely with Project Coordinator Sara Herritty and the SSAW Management Board.

"I am looking forward to developing the good work SSAW has achieved to date," said Emma.
