Priceless advice from London to Brighton crew helps launch NCDT Cardiff workshop in style!

The National Council for Drama Training  ‘Acting for Screen’ training weekend, taking place in Cardiff on from 8 - 10 January 2010 and hosted by SSAW, kicked off in style at ITV Studios on the 30th of November.

Following an intensive day of casting for 36 aspiring actors from NCDT approved courses around the UK with Director Richard Kweitnowski and Casting Director Janie Frazer, the team behind the hit film London to Brighton provided around 50 actors and film students with a fascinating and honest insight into breaking into the world of film and screen acting.

Paul Andrew Williams, who started life as an actor who trained at LAMDA and went on to star in shows such as Casualty, Holby City  and Band of Brothers before turning his hand to directing, and lead actor Johnny Harris, who came up via the Fringe Theatre route, talked frankly about the challenges that face graduate actors and film-makers trying to make a name for themselves and gave hints and tips on how to create a competitive CV which will impress a Director… without exaggerating the truth too much!

Johnny reassured the audience that you can stray from the traditional career pathways as long as you have passion and determination and always believe in what you are doing – all things which we hope the 24 students who have now been selected to come to Cardiff in January have taken on board and will make the 35mm film shoot, which will be the climax of the training weekend – a big success!

More information will follow about the film weekend will follow as well as the announcement of a Q&A with a very special guest.
