Lights, Camera, Action for second set of PGF participants!

The second cohort of the Screen Academy Wales Post-graduation Facility are gearing up to start their 4 month course on Monday the 11th of January.

The ten selected participants will be treated to a month of workshops and will undertake the production of a short film with director/producer John Shackleton.

Their induction month will involve workshops with Sian Gale from BECTU on finance for freelancers and Rhys Bevan from Barcud Derwen on risk assessing in the film industry, as well as sessions with producer Sue Jeffries and production manager Derwyn Williams. There will also be sessions on marketing and distribution and the final short film will be presented to potential distributors at a pitching session at the end of the month.

The trainees will also meet key individuals from the Film Agency for Wales, Skillset Cymru and Wales Screen Commission before embarking on their short film production from their own production office at ITV Wales/OMNI studios (reputed to be one of the largest studio spaces in Europe).
