Launch of FEA Management & Screen Acting Class

Ferris Entertainment are proud to announce the launch of FEA Management (Actors Agency)and the commencement of the new term of Ferris Entertainment Actors Studio, Screen Acting for Film and Television Classes this September.

Having been trained at the renowned Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts and having taught the likes of Martine McCutcheon, Louise Redknapp, Claire Sweeny, Claire Goose, Emmerdale's Sheree Murphey and Gabi Anwar (Scent of a Woman with Al Pacino), Peter Ferris has been lucky to be in the right place at the right time to be able to spot and nurture talent for the last twenty years.

With the long awaited development of Dragon Film Studios, successful TV series such as Dr Who, Torchwood, Young Dracula and films soon to be shot in Wales such as Justin Kerrigan's "I know you know" staring Robert Carlyle and described as a Welsh coming of age story which is produced by Parallax Films, one of whose founders is Phil Davis (Vera Drake) who directed Peter, along with David Thewlis in his film "Skullduggery" ("and he still owes me a pint of Guinness" laughs Ferris), along with Keith Allen's BBC film "Karaoke wars" Wales has the potential to emerge as a major player in the Film Industry.

"I have been guided and encouraged by Rob Thomas and Alison Dowzell (to name but a few) at Creative Business Wales who have a vision and a belief in the potential of the Welsh Film, Television and Music Industry that is inspiring" said Ferris

Ferris Entertainment Agency and Actors Studio recognise that the industry requires talent who are not only proficient and experienced at acting on camera but are totally knowledgable of the Film and Television making process.

"Acting for camera is a totally different skill" said Ferris "any experience you have had on stage will not in any way prepare you for the requirements for acting for Film or Television"

"Have a row with your girlfriend/boyfriend ... well done, that's stage acting (ish) now do it exactly the same way twenty times, the same words, the same movements, the same energy, the same emotion, the same pauses, the same pace and that's not including "hitting your marks" and continuity... now that's screen acting" that is why all our students work on camera every class that they have."

"Wales is going to require more and more Welsh actors proficient in this skill as the industry grows...which I'm confident it will"

Peter added " there is incredible, incredible talent here in Wales the majority of which I believe have never been trained or don't even know how to get into the business, and yet it just needs to be nurtured refined and encouraged to believe in their ability and therefore to be confident and proud, as I am proud to have been encouraged to play (a very small) part in the flourishing of this industry in Wales.

Ferris Entertainment Screen Acting Course in Cardiff begins in September and there are still some places available for new students for either the Thursday evening Class 6pm - 9pm or the Saturday afternoon class 2pm - 5pm

Our new Actors Agency, FEA Management will be launched in September. All our clients will either have extensive screen acting experience or will have been invited to join upon reaching our required standard having been trained at Ferris Entertainment Actors Studio, Wales.

Penarth Actor Wins Film Role

Penarth actor, Jason Excell, wins a public vote on "My Space" to secure a role in the new feature film "Faintheart" produced by Film 4 and Vertigo Films.

Jason, who has trained at Ferris Entertainment Actors Studios in Penarth for the last year and a half, entered his audition video on the Faintheart/My Space site four weeks ago. Out of hundreds of entries, Jason’s audition video was chosen as one of the top three, these were then shown on My Space for a public vote where Jason won with 64% of the vote.

Jason, who has lived in Penarth for the last two years, is now about to go to London to meet the casting director, the Director and the producers of the film "Faintheart" which tells the story of a man who is obsessed with his weekend re-enactments of Viking battles.

Jason's long hair and tall menacing good looks make him perfect for the role and also won him the major role of Reverend Clegg the vampire in the horror feature film "High Stakes" which was directed by Peter Ferris and also featured many of the Ferris Entertainment Actors Studio Actors, which was shot in Wales.

Jason has said "I can't believe it, I really have been lucky, I only decided to give acting a real go a year and a half ago when I joined Peter Ferris and his Actors Studio and already I have appeared in a feature film, a comedy pilot, a commercial for S4C, 2 short films and now this and now with the launch of Ferris Entertainment Actors Agency this month, who knows where It will lead?... But I am not naive I know I will have to keep training to keep improving"
