The Interational Film School Wales (IFSW) - lead partner

IFSW is based at the University of Wales, Newport, a member of the University of Wales's network of eight higher education institutions. The University's School of Art, Media and Design, where the Film School is based, has a long history of excellence in creative and practice-based research and was rated '5' - the highest grade achieved by any Art School - in the last Research Assessment Exercise. The IFSW has built a reputation as a leading centre for the education and training of audiovisual professionals. It is the main provider of film education in Wales. The newly established Cardiff School of Creative & Cultural Industries brings together the creative disciplines within the University of Glamorgan, including Art & Design * , Media & Communication and Drama & Music. This diverse, multidisciplinary grouping supports a rich cultural and scholarly environment, and provides specialist and hybrid undergraduate, postgraduate and research degree programmes. The new Faculty actively fosters the creative, technological, entrepreneurial and intellectual development of students and staff. From September 2007, a new campus, ATRiuM, will open in central Cardiff and provide the Faculty with a new home. This multi-million pound facility will be an architectural icon, as well as a platform for an eclectic mix of teaching and research in the theory and practice of media, design and the arts. As well as state-of-the-art teaching and learning spaces and facilities, like-minded individuals from a broad range of subject areas will work together in an environment geared to sharing expertise across the disciplines. Swansea Metropolitan University - associate partner

Swansea Metropolitan University is part of the University of Wales and is the organiser of SAND (Swansea Animation Days), a prestigious international event that encourages the convergence of animation, CGI and other digital technologies for the creation of commercially exploitable, innovative content. The Institute's role within the SSAW project is to participate in advancing the animation curriculum and to develop an MA in 3D Computer Animation. The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) -

The RWCMD, an associate partner in SSAW, is the national conservatoire of Wales. Its unique combination of courses includes undergraduate and postgraduate degree and diploma programmes in music, theatre and related disciplines. The role of the RWCMD in the SSAW project involves the further development of the screen acting curriculum across the partnership and the development of an MA in screen acting.
